Author and public speaker Deepak Chopra stopped by the studio earlier this week to talk about his critically acclaimed and wildly popular new book, You Are the Universe, which was SUCH a special and cool experience! I’ve been fascinated with Deepak and his work for quite some time now, so getting to sit down one-on-one with him was a dream come true!

I usually don’t like to get too political here, but in today’s times of unease and uncertainty, it’s easy to feel lost and even a little hopeless. Deepak explains why it’s okay to feel like that and how to keep yourself centered and balanced in times when you feel like you can’t control what’s going on in the world around you. The way he puts things into perspective is mind-blowing!

Deepak Chopra, author of “You Are the Universe.”

One of the most important things that really resonated with me from spending time and talking with Deepak is what he said about our individual purpose: “You have to ask yourself, ‘Who am I? What do I want in life? What is my purpose for?’ Your purpose in life is to understand yourself. And once you do that you’ll start to understand everyone else.”

Deepak also talked about the importance of taking time to reflect on everything going on in your life, which sounds like it would make you want to pull your hair out (hey, that’s a LOT of stuff to reflect on!), but once you actually sit down, set aside time, and truly devote all of your focus to the task at hand, it’s actually a really beneficial and insightful experience.
