Are Lip Fillers Out of Style?

| Uncategorized

Kylie Jenner recently revealed that she stopped filling her lips. The world went crazy over this revelation, and a lot of people are happy that she’s going natural.

To be honest, I’ve filled my lips and I hate the way my lips look. I automatically get the “duck lips” because they’re just so thin to begin with. I feel like when people have thicker lips in the first place, it’s easier for them to get natural-looking fillers. I’d rather just make my lips look fuller by using a lip liner or contouring around them.

But Kylie has built an empire off of her lips, so it’s interesting that she decided to stop filling them. I did some research to learn about what filling your lips actually means.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is what plastic surgeons use as fillers for lips. There are different types of fillers. For example, Restylane and Restylane-L are good for subtle enhancements. And then there’s Juvederm Ultra XC, which is good to achieve that pillowy effect. And if you want to treat fine lines around your mouth, then Juvederm Volbella XC is the right filler to use.

What you need to know about fillers is that they’re pretty expensive. Prices range from $200 to $2,000 depending on where you get your lips filled.

If you want to quit injectable lip fillers like Kylie, there are many ways you can fake it. For example, there are suction cups like Juvalips that helps plump the lips. There are also lipstick plumpers that are formulated to make your lips bigger for a couple of hours. But what I’ve learned over the years is to contour my lips to make them look bigger. And I overline them with a lip liner for a fuller effect.

So will lip fillers die out now that Kylie has stopped filing her lips? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

In the meantime, I recently tried Kylie’s 37-step makeup routine that she revealed to Vogue, and I have to say I learned a lot about makeup. Check out the video below.
